Please considering joining us next month (February 2025) for a discussion of Heikki Linnakangas's talk on The Wire Protocol, from PGCONF.EU 2024. For those not familiar with the concept, this hacking workshop is basically a virtual meetup: you watch the talk, and then you sign up to participate in one of two or three Zoom meetings where we discuss the talk. Usually, we're able to get the original author of the talk to join us; thanks to Heikki for agreeing to join us this month.
To sign up for this month's discussion, please use this form. Attendees of all levels are welcome, from total beginner with no previous PostgreSQL or programming experience all the way through people who are already PostgreSQL committers, and attendance does often cover that entire range. I have tentatively booked three times -- details on the signup form -- and we'll keep either just two or all three of those depending on the number of signups. Signups will be open through the end of January, and will close as soon after the end of the month as I have time to work on the invites. Hope to see you there!
